damn i wish could play like my friend on lead. anyways there were many obstacles in the recording, but most of which we overcame with the help of the on-duty supervisor. i just realised that it is pointless recording with an amp, connecting the effects pedal to the console directly is a more logical method to capture a tighter, more crystal clear sound of the guitar in overdrive. oh yeah it did take me a while to figure that the method of recording a guitar amp with a mic is phased out in modern day recording, still had some mother fuckers tell us the amp gives a warmer sound, but who cares, everything is digital now! all would have gone smoothly had we just plugged the effects medal directly to the console in the first place.
anyways my friend and his friend were wikked on the guitar and drums, it was thrash, melodic, death, black, metal mashed into one suprisingly uplifting, at times euphoric in the dark way, track. we had enough fun that we decided to book an 8 hour session next sunday. its a win win situation for both us, the recording engineers and the band. we get more songs to choose from to use for our assignment, in return we help them record and master their first ever demo CD for free.
