hello.
relization hit me today after buying records from the shop, that my turn tables were that of some material craving, its not necessary and i feel as if i was crapping me self then, i cannot afford a mthly stock of vinyls. i could easily get all my music on mp3 and mix it on cds. realization hit me when i heard a familiar tune playing on the speakers. so i asked the lady(shopowner) what she was playing, true enough i have this track on mp3 format. so she asked whether i wanted it, i said ' but i already downloaded it ..' then it hit me i was contradicting meself and that the purpose of buying vinyls were secondary. damn but i was so proud i could id a tune, thought i was out of touch man. i mean, if there was a track i really wanted bad , i would have d/l-ed it frm soulseek or something, instead of ordering the piece of vinyl. and since i already own a pair of decks, i may as well go vinyl shopping time to time anyway! then again the whole idea of record mixing looks n feels so much more cool. then again a lot of djs are using cds these days cos' technology has suppressed style. then again i'm mixing for personal interest, or do i really fancy being a A grade dj in singapore? tough work, like just fuck it mannnn. i come to a conclusion that, my course of study i am gonna pursue is not something i am passionate about, but something i hate the least. i've rediscovered the anomosity of the singaporean civiliness on the bus home, what the deal people? why u all got to barge into the bus? and when your part of the standing crowd and someone leaves his/her seat, why do you choose to appear to be the last to want that only seat?
i spent 36 dollars on 2 records alone ... i am gonna be broke again soon...
and yup i'm taking photos for the JUICE dj quest event at zouk this sat too...
4 finalist will battle for supremacy on the decks .. woudlnt wanna miss that one.
